Terms of service
Last updated 7 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and EDF Filing when you use this website and app. By creating an account you accept them. If you use EDF Filing on behalf of a company or firm, you confirm you are allowed to accept them for it.
What the service does
EDF Filing generates documents from details you enter: the Export Declaration Form (EDF) in your bank's format, an annexure listing the month's invoices, a cover letter and a spreadsheet version. It can place a signature and seal image you upload. It stores your profile, clients, invoices and generated documents so you can reuse them, and it emails you deadline reminders.
The service has limits. Each pack covers up to 50 invoices for one month. Templates are available for the banks listed on our home page; other banks receive the RBI format. Templates follow the bank formats we have seen; banks can change their formats without telling us.
No filing, no advice
EDF Filing does not submit anything to your bank, the Reserve Bank of India or any other authority. You send the documents yourself. We are not an Authorised Dealer, we are not a chartered accountant or a law firm, and nothing in the service is legal, tax or foreign exchange advice. Not affiliated with HDFC Bank or RBI.
Your responsibilities
- You are the declarant. Check every entry in every document before you sign or send it.
- The details you enter must be accurate and yours to use, including PAN, IEC, GSTIN and bank details.
- You may upload a signature or seal only if you are the authorised signatory or have authority to use it. Your bank may still ask for an ink signature.
- You are responsible for meeting your bank's deadlines and requirements. Our reminders are a convenience, not a guarantee.
- Keep your password private and tell us at once if you think someone else has used your account.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- create documents for an exporter you do not represent, or with details you know to be false;
- open several accounts to collect extra free packs;
- probe, scan or attack the service, or try to reach other users' data;
- upload files that contain malware or that you have no right to share;
- resell or automate access to the service without our written permission.
We may suspend accounts that break these rules.
Free credits and future pricing
New accounts receive 1 free pack credits. One credit is used the first time a pack is generated; regenerating the same pack within 30 days is free. One free allowance is available per exporter PAN. Paid plans will be announced on this site. We will never charge you without your explicit consent, and free credits you already hold stay valid.
Intellectual property
You own the details you enter and the documents you generate. You give us permission to store and process them only to provide the service to you. The software, design and text of EDF Filing belong to us. Bank names and form titles belong to their owners and are used only to identify the formats we reproduce.
Disclaimer of warranties
We work hard to keep the service accurate and available, but it is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error free, that templates match every branch's current practice, or that your bank will accept any document.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including penalties, late fees, lost business or lost profits. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. While you use only free credits, that amount is zero. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law.
Termination
You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time from Settings; your data is deleted as described in our privacy notice. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we will tell you why unless the law prevents it. If we ever shut the service down, we will give you at least 30 days' notice to download your documents.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Mumbai have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top and, for significant changes, email you before they take effect. If you keep using the service after that, the new terms apply.
